the sentence I find most damning for Capitalism is this one, "What all the data I’ve shown you so far says is the same thing. The average well-being of our societies is not dependent any longer on national income and economic growth. That’s very important in poorer countries, but not in the rich developed world. But the differences between us and where we are in relation to each other now matter very much."

Capitalism develops to it's peak, then the focus shifts to equality. When's the revolution, guys?

Sadly I see fascism more likely raising than a leftist revolution because it's currently weak to counter capitalism (mainly due to the fall of the Soviet Union which lead into the wide spread demonization of socialism/communism in general and also the "Communism failed because of human nature" belief which also plays a large role why the left is so damaged and weak at the moment).

BY the way, that website/facebook is 100% pro-Obama. They basically campaign for the guy.

No offense, but it doesn't. We have considerable evidence that it does.

Ocean Seal, I'm not sure who that's directed at, please clarify.

And Jookyle, and I know, I hate that shit site. But that study proves, whether intentional or not, that people are ready for change.

The relationship between the rich developed countries and poorer countries is important because the developed rely on the exploitation on the poorer countries for resources and labor.

the failure of the communist movement through the past century is responsible for what we have now, the only thing lacking in revolutionary situations has been a revolutionary leadership when the question of revolution was at the forefront. At least in western europe and north america, the cores of capitalism, that has been the issue. Once we succeed in a single one of the western european countries to have a workers state established, the rest of them will fall like dominoes.

*This* corroborates the end of capitalist development:

The five-year record profits come on top of bumper earnings in 2011, the most profitable year for banking since 2006. While jobs and wages for working people remain deeply depressed, the financial sector, which caused the economic slump, is doing better than ever.

This applies particularly to the financial giants. Two-thirds of all US financial institutions reported increased profits, but the vast bulk of these profits were concentrated in the largest banks, those with assets over $10 billion. While they make up only 1.4 percent of all banks, these institutions raked in 81 percent of the net earnings.

While profits rose 23 percent compared to a year earlier, net operating income revenue was up only five percent. This means most banks boosted their profits not from lending activities, but through bookkeeping operations, like reducing the amount they set aside to cover loan losses (down $6.6 billion compared to the same quarter in 2011).
