I know the writing on that flag isn't cyrillic, but it reminded me of how much it annoys me when I see cyrillic letters trying to spell out an english word... e.g. BORДT (Borat)

Yeah I don't think real bears have that sort of family structure. I never liked that story. And I think the unlikely association of bears with commies is derived from the weird association of bears with Russians that the same sort of degenerates who misuse cyrillic to spell out English-looking words find delightfully amusing.

That's not Cyrillic though, it's just some kind of Latin font that's vaguely influenced by how Cyrillic script looks like. Not really original but leagues ahead of that whole Я as R and И as N fuckery.
