Former Party Member?

I was curious about other revlefters historic memberships / support for parties or organisations. I know current support or membership can be disclosed on profiles, but wondered what groups you've supported in the past (no need to elaborate on why you don't anymore, unless you want to of course).

For myself, card-carrying Socialist Party (England and Wales) for a couple of years in my teens. Then a long period of general apathy, some vague interest in Social Democrat style politics and groups, then a very brief membership of the Green Party a year ago (then discovered rev left).

Used to be in the IWW for a little while, but quit paying dues.

Was going to affiliate with NEFAC (now Common Struggle) and was working with them, but never ended up making it official.

Have associated with some second rate facebook groups which failed but other than my current commitments to a couple of leftist sects I do not have much of a history of bouncing around from group to group.

I support any revolutionary anti-capitalist leftist group.

We had a radical anti-authoritarian tendency, mostly anarchists/wobblies and some left-coms. The party leadership decided they didn't like us anymore, accused us of attempting to "use" the SP to build our own organization with intent to split. So the secretary shut it down.

I was in the Green Party 4-5 years ago when I was a social-democrat. As I became more left and class-conscious, I realized a lot of what I believed in clashed with the Greens. They're just a bunch of frustrated-liberals and supposed-"environmentalists" who don't get the big picture.

I've been a dues-paying Wobbly for about year-and-a-half now. Active in my local GMB (General Membership Branch), blah blah blah.

I was a member of the Socialist Party for two years, then of the Democratic Party 1966 (equivalent of the US democratic party) for a year.

Conservative Party of Canada back in my Libertarian/Red Tory days. Hung out with the Communist Party of Canada for some time but wasn't a card carrying member - did some podcasting though.

Currently associated with Socialist Party of Canada and the IWW.
