Wow. See, stuff like that makes me happy I hate Bush and his replubican party. People within Canada demanded a Republican party not to long ago, 2-3 years ago, after 9/11 seeing how good it was doing to the country and before that too. Now, I'm kind of worried about our near future. This guy forces young men and women to die in some foreign country so he can profit himself (the oil). Then he does his little cut backs to save his own ass and give some tax breaks...except to the poor families who lost a family member right?
I also hate the friendly fire bullshit. I'm still pissed at those pilots who bombed us in Afghanistan (spelling?). I talked to one of the Canadian soldier who was there (came to my school and thought us about the military). He said he has no grudge against the pilots but you could tell he was angry/sad at what had happened. In a few simple words: Bush = Idiot!

Hmmm, quite well produced; not a bad "film".
But I'm not entirely sure I support all its causes... Bush may indeed be a prat - but squaddies don't sign up expecting a desk job. They know, or should know, the risks. It seems rather unfair to announce these cuts after a major conflict though; not the greatest political move ever...
And I bet the money he steals from the infantryman will go toward tax breaks for the rich...
How in BLAZES did Bush even get into power? I think the American voters must actually be less intelligent than the British voters - this would be some kind of revelation!

It's called fixing a vote...*cough*Florida*cough*...yah...what? Oh yah...that eh...never happened right?! Damn Bush. I can't beleive he hasn't been killed or been thrown out of office for being such a moron. I just realized something. Here I can express my extreme hate for Bush and the American Republicans without being caught in a web of Bush lovers. It feels good for once.

its not that he fixed the votes, its that all the old ppl in florida couldn't push the holes in the ballots all the way thru, those lazy assholes ruined our country for 4 god damned years...o well soon enough dean will probably win and then nearly nothing will change except for a rapid reduction of troops in foreign countries and hopefuly a little foreign diplomacy that actually works, maybe the world will hate us too much by then tho. and yeah i can explain why he hasn't been shot, rednecks are the only ones in this country that really know how to shoot, and unfortunately they are dumb enough to like him.

I had a hard time choking back the tears as I watched this. Then I had a hard time restraining myself from punching my monitor.

It's gut-wrenching really. I'm sure a lot of young men sign up for the military because they think it's the honorable thing to do. They want to defend their homeland and make a difference. Then they get screwed over by this miserable president of ours who ships them off to fight his imperialistic wars. I pity our troops more than anything.

Defend their homeland??? Hahaha!
There hasn't been a battle on American soil since the Civil War!

Really? War's Hell, soldier! The squaddies knew this - don't feel too sorry for them.

That's not why I had a hard time choking back the tears. It had more to do with the fact that these boys went over there with a sense of duty and came back with an empty cupboard, so to speak. Not that many, if any, have come back at all.

All I can say is..
I wish it was on NBC, CBS, ABC...ect..ect and every commercial break for everyshow had that as one of the commercials. If the democrats wanted to actually stop Bush and this war they wouldn't be putting up wimpy commercials, they'd be paying for something like this to one the air.

Damn Bush, these kinds of things are just a smack in the face to the American people. Personally I think Bush is an idiot. The only reason he's actually held the country together is because of 9/11, and all this patriotic bullcrap and how he "dealt so well and swiftly" with the matter. But then he sends in a bunch of guys who thought they'd be doing the right thing by joining the army and helping "the American cause" over to Iraq. He the decides to turn around and completely disregard the sacrifices they have made by giving them a smack in the face.
They are winning HIS war...not the American war, Bushs War. They are what is turning the economy around, they are the ones that give the foolish Americans, Bush included, a false sense of security. The Americans think that they are indeed fending off the "evil doers", when in actuality they are just fighting for Oil. Another interesting thing to note is that after the war, Iraq will be devestated in many ways and what Bush is doing is he is sending in American contractors to rebuild factories, housing units, etc, etc. Can you say *cha ching*!

i sent it to my dad, he replied with this..
Mike,
Thank you for the informative media clip. You are right, I do think President Bush is doing a good job for our nation. One must remember that one's performance can only be judged by comparing his work to others in the same position. With that said, President Bush is doing a good job in comparison to previous administrations.
People will argue that there was peace and prosperity for the American people during Clinton's term, however, this would not really be correct. The stock market did hit record highs but this was due to E-commerce and stock prices fixed to non-tangable goods such as non profiting Internet sites. Proof of that can be seen by all of the Internet companies that have gone under in the late 90's and early 2000s. In fact, the recession that Bush has been blamed for actually started in around August/September of 1999. (before Bush was elected)
The military received drastic man power cuts during Mr. Clinton's watch as well. This is visible by the extreme usage of the National Guard and Reserve units fighting today's battle on terrorism. It was the Clinton administration that allowed the mass murder of people in Bosnia. It was also the Clinton administration who pulled the American troops out of Somalia without the completion of National objectives because of the 19 American deaths in Mogadishu. (blackhawk down) There would never had been a Sept 11th had Mr. Clinton taken Saudi Arabia's offer to give the US Osama bin Laden.
As for our "poor" fighting men and women, again the website is skewing the subject. The national average for personal income is $28,518.00. Of that figure, most of the people do not have any medical care or company paid retirement. They do however pay tax on the full amount of income. The military pay (with a family) breakdown is as follows.
E1<2 years makes $21,494.52
E3>2 years makes $25,856.52
E4>4 years makes $29,960.52
E5>6 years makes $34,327.52
Of this amount, only approximately 2/3 is taxable. They have full medical and dental, 30 days paid vacation per year, educational, and retirement benefits. They may also chose to pay into a retirement fund that places the money into the stock market. The above annual incomes do not show the additional cost of living income for various locations in and out of the United States. It also does not show the pro-pay, special and hazardous duty pay. It also does not show the annual amount given for uniforms and reenlistment bonuses.
Next time you visit, we need to drive around and look at some of the cars these poor GI's drive. BMW, Cadillac, Lexus, Mercedes, Infinity and the plethora of high dollar SUV's and sport sedans. I would like to show you some of the houses these poor families live in but we won't be aloud to drive around in their neighborhoods since they are gated communities.
The next time you hear about those poor abused military men and women remember, they volunteered. Until the time of war, they all got paid to sit around, smoke, joke and play grab ass. Who am I to make these comments? I am a veteran and have spent my whole adult life (last 24 years) working as a GI or side by side as a Department of Defense civilian employee.

I would also like to see this on in the corporate media, to counter-act all that militaristic shit that is polluting so many minds. Of course, that is a silly fantasy considering who owns the media... NBC for example is owned by General Electric, which I believe is intimately linked to the military-industrial complex.
The Dems cannot take such a hard line against militarism. Too many of them are militarists themselves, especially many Dems in high places.
