I've recently come to write my own short version of growing leadership. I will first state it and then break it down based on how I've come to understand it at this point. I welcome all thoughts and perspectives. Due to my history, it will be easy to spot religious similarities and for this I will state that I am anti-religion.

"There are more of you who have not yet defined themselves. For when you do, you will be reborn and you will lead the rest. As a shepard tends to the sheep. Until, they believe in their own silent way."

"There are more of you who have not yet defined themselves"
Within this sentence my thoughts go towards to when one is asking the questions "What is the meaning of life", "Who am I" and simply will not be satisfied with superficial answers and enters into a path of continued seeking. Without a leader it is easy to get lost in ones own path of self-discovery and enter into a state of nihilism. Following into self-defeating thoughts of helplessness and hopelessness. Simply lost or stuck in their way of life.

For when you do, you will be reborn and you will lead the rest.
The word reborn is equal to a personal paradigm shift, new perspective on life.(someone taking a blender to your brain and rebuilding it) From being nihilistic and transforming into a more enlightenment perspective. To have purpose and to believe in that purpose. To lead the rest is to help those who have not yet gone through what, to whom may be leading, you have.

As a shepard tends to the sheep.
I chose these words for how ignorant and arrogant people are being referred to as sheeple and that the word sheep is singular and plural when using it metaphorically to people. Translate it into leading among the few or the many.

Until, they believe in their own silent way.
We all need to be able to stand on our own and be able to accept responsibility. Even if not fully grown, to have reached this point in life is a huge achievement and in the step of self reliance.

Rinse, recycle, repeat.

To me, this is achieving Independence through dependence. It is a process people helping people grow. It is a process of promoting leadership and mentoring. It is a process of promoting ones own will and without a strong will or desire to take action there is no fight in a man.
I will take Ron Paul's political campaign for example. Recently, he had made a statement that simply stated that he was refocusing his efforts on certain states. This redirection of strategy was seen as him quitting and giving up his campaigning for the GOP nomination. To the posts and videos that I read and watched too many people had believed in this lie and had quit themselves.
To my conclusion, it is not enough to teach someone. People must "believe" in "themselves" that they can make a difference. As one to consider themselves a leader, you cannot ignore this very important element that drives a man.
