kinda makes sense because the pakistan bourgeois are very pro-islamist, but pretty dumb as far as pakistan-US relations go.

Pakistan-US relations? Pakistan is funding Taliban in Afghanistan for almost 2 decades. It's a flexible relation, specially if you take in count the nuclear race of Pakistan and the US embargo.
