I didn't go into this film with high expectations, as the previews hadn't looked appealing to me (someone invited me to the film so I went), plus I'm actually not really a big fan of Tim Burton, but it was actually better than I thought it would be. A dead-pan Johnny Depp and an annoying Eva Green (who play the two characters that the movie basically revolves around) being the highlights, probably. The humor of the film seems to based mostly on "Johnny Depp uttering ridiculous olde-tyme-y statements in a dead-pan voice". Anyway, I'd recommend seeing it.

I found it humorous when Depp's character thought a McDonald's sign was a sign from Mephistopheles, and the "place your lips on my posterior and kiss it repeatedly" line was giggle-worthy, but other than that it was a bit bland, perhaps worth one viewing.
The existence of a werewolf girl at the end reminded me way too much of Twilight, and it ruined the movie for me.

I know a guy who used to watch the show. All I can say is that he is not happy about a re-make.
