More Christian love from North Carolina:
http://gawker.com/5912100/north-carolina-pastor-offers-final-solution-to-homosexual-problem-electrified-concentration-camps

North Carolina has already voted in favor of amending its constitution to outlaw all domestic unions outside heterosexual marriage, but that's not quite enough for one Tar Heel State pastor who thinks all gays and lesbians should be penned behind electric fences and left to die.
"I figured a way to get rid of all the lesbians and queers, but I couldn't get it passed through Congress," Pastor Charles L. Worley of the Maiden-based Providence Road Baptist Church ("the Home of old time Religion") told his congregation during last week's Sunday sermon.
"Build a great, big, large fence - 50 or 100 mile long - put all the lesbians in there," he continued. "Fly over and drop some food. Do the same thing with the queers and the homosexuals, and have that fence electrified 'til they can't get out... And you know what, in a few years, they'll die out. Do you know why? They can't reproduce."
Worley delivered his horrific proposal less than two weeks after another North Carolina pastor, Rev. Sean Harris, told his congregants to give their boys "a good punch" if they start "acting like a female."
He later told the press he was just joking.

What's scarier is he says he actually tried to have that law passed as a bill....

Yeah, just the ramblings of a fundamentalist. Not too far away from what his ilk have been preaching about for years.Nothing will come of it: not now nor in a hundred years.

(And yup, I covered this story too.lol)

So, in other words, he completely agrees with Nazis and wants the pink triangle to have a come back? As far as I'm concerned people like him can fuck themselves.

"I figured a way to get rid of all the lesbians and queers, but I couldn't get it passed through Congress."-Pastor Charles L. Worley.

Really? No shit, because you're batshit insane. I also don't buy the whole "it's ok, it was just a joke," excuse considering this actually fucking happened under the Nazis and what's even worse is, when the camps were liberated, said queer inmates were sent right back to jail under Paragraph 175 the Nazis put into legislation which made homosexual relations a felony. This would be akin to saying, "you know how we could get rid of all those those handicapped people, thieving Jews, troublesome "Gypsies," and damned hippy leftists? Concentration camps."

There is not one God damn thing humorous and what's even more insulting than him actually trying to get such a bill passed or proposing such an idea is saying that it's a giant joke. That the death of thousands if not millions of homosexuals in America is something that could be construed as humorous. To me this is saying the Nazis were right.

Not to mention this whole notion of "flying over and dropping food down," which implies that we're so disgusting that heterosexual people shouldn't even risk being defiled by giving us food directly.

What is most saddening to me here is that these pastors ratchet up their rhetoric whenever the economy takes a dump. Hurting for donations they'll stoke whatever fire and whip whatever frenzy that will move their congregants. I doubt these "people of God" even believe the crap they say. They know the sheep in their churches will hand over cash for this latest battle in the culture war and that Fox and the religious networks will give them air time. It's all about the dollar.

It never ceases to amaze me how stupid some fundies can get.

Did it not cross his mind that as long as heterosexuals keep on having children, there will always be gay and lesbian people?

Maybe the pastor should join forces with the Westboro Baptist Church. I'm sure he'll get along just great with old man Phelps.

"Faith and hope and charity", the greatest being "charity" and all that shite.

This brand of good Christian charity, the pastor needs ramming right down his throat.

Like I've said before, I feel the need for queer defence along the lines of Antifa :star:

Nah, it never did occur to him because you have to remember that to these people homosexuality is a "choice one consciously makes. "

As someone who lived in NC for 11 years (literally half my life), I'm kind of compelled to go settle there and lead the homosexual, modern-day version of the Bielski partisans. I've heard women really find partisans sexy.

Ah yes, that old canard about heterosexuals being 'groomed and recruited by gays into their decadent lifestlye'.

Whenever a fundie starts talking about homosexuality being a choice, the best reply to give is to ask them when they made the choice to be heterosexual.

The problem is that a lot of them ARE choosing to be hetero... until it comes crashing down on them and they either admit they're gay, or kill themselves.

A lot of homophobes I feel sorry for, rather than disdain.

It's this madness, this fucking hideous, unsupportable bullshit that makes me want to physically destroy every one of these bastards (every member of the congregation that nodded their heads in agreement during the service, the pastor, the lawmakers who secretly agreed with him about making a law...) Every one of them fills me with such hate and anger that I feel like breaking with every sane and moral fibre of my being and just annihilating them...
But yeah, nothing new, the sad and sick tale of homophobia goes on and on and fucking on.

I guess not letting homosexuals marry freely (in the "land of the free") was not enough for all these religious fundamentalists. Now they want to put us in camps. I would like to see them try putting me or any of my homosexual friends in camps.

I know this was not a serious suggestion (who knows; maybe it was), but this just goes to show how terribly stupid religious fundamentalists are.

My first post here. I grew up in evangelical churches. Not all are like this one but most are, at least so far as the members are concerned. My experience goes back to the 1950's and back then they were yammering about water flouridation and of course the communist menace. They are for the most part, pathetic, frightened people who need a crutch to lean on because they are unable to get through life without one.

Suppose someone threatend to kill you. And then he tells the police "Oh I was just joking."
Surely the police will just laugh about the whole thing and let the person who commited the assault go free.

I think Pastor Charles L. Worley is actually a KKK member. Can we round up him and his ilk and put them in a barbed-wire fenced compound,
so they can not do any more damage to young minds, by preaching hatred and bigotry?

They were so worried about "those dangerous commies" etc, when their real fear should have been racism and homophobia within their own neighborhoods. Hate only tears apart the fabric of society. I lived then too... the country was practically coming apart in the 1960s. I fear we are headed back in that direction, given today's Radical Right Agenda.

A fenced compound for the entire South? I dunno, sounds kinda extreme in terms of resources.lol

In a related bit: I feel deeply sorry for my southern comrades who have to organize under these conditions; religious fundies, racist asses, and neo-nazi gatherings do not make habitable conditions for thriving progressive politics.

North Carolina Pastor Charles L. Worley, who called for gays (http://www.queerty.com/nc-pastor-charles-electrified-fence-for-gays-worley-sad-they-cant-lynch-homos-no-more-20120524/#) to be carted up and penned in behind an electrified fence (http://www.queerty.com/nc-pastor-put-all-the-gays-inside-an-electrified-fence-20120522/) until they “die out,” isn’t new to the world of hate-filled rhetoric.
Good As You (http://www.goodasyou.org/good_as_you/2012/05/pastor-worley-in-1978-forty-years-ago-they-wouldve-hung-homosexuals-bless-god-from-a-white-oak-tree.html) found a wonderful little audio nugget from 1978, when Worley lamented homosexuals weren’t strung up anymore.
“We’re living in a day when you know what it saddens my heart to think homosexuals can go around, bless God, and get the applause of a lot of people,” Worley opines. “Lesbians and all the rest of it!”
He adds, “Forty years ago [gays] would’ve hung, bless God, from a white oak tree!”
Why does he keep saying ‘God bless’? Is that Carolina thing?
As Queerty reported earlier (http://www.queerty.com/congregation-voices-support-for-ncs-electrocute-the-gays-pastor-20120523/), this scuzzball has the full support of parishioners like Geneva Sims, who said:

“He had every right to say what he said, about putting them in a pen, feeding them. The Bible (http://www.queerty.com/nc-pastor-charles-electrified-fence-for-gays-worley-sad-they-cant-lynch-homos-no-more-20120524/#) says they’re worthy of death. He only preaches the Word.”
If Worley preaches the Word, though, shouldn’t he be advocating killing gays—not just locking them up? Seems to us that goes against God’s clearly expressed commandment.
But, hey, we’re sure so long as Geneva keeps getting her Pall Malls and Old English, she’s a happy camper.

These fundies are such hypocrites. If they knew their Bible well enough, they'd know that it also prescribes the death penalty for unruly children, for people who don't listen to the clergy, for women who aren't virgins on their wedding night, &c....
If they really claim to follow the Bible, why don't they follow those rules as well?

Indeed...I heard about a preacher / pastor type who changed the official running order of the commandments, and their punishments, so that adultery was a crime where it's instant death but murder was only possible death.
So I suspect this guy wanted to kill his cheating wife and not be sent to the chair for it.

I do have sympathy for all those people in the closet who are too scared to come out because they live in a reactionary and religious social environment.

However I have little sympathy, if any, for the closeted homophobes who use their hang ups with their own sexual orientation to oppress and discriminate against other LGBTQ people. People like Ted Haggard and George "lift my luggage" Rekers.
