I currently know very little about Communism as a whole. I am currently reading alot, to learn more about Communism. And I am confused about what "tendencies" actually are?, and which one I should join?
Can anyone explain which tendency is the best?:)

There's no such thing as a "best" tendency. Do some research on a few and see which one best describes you're personal ideologies and opinions. It wasn't that long ago I discovered Libertarian Socialism but it was a great feeling finding a group of people who were on the same page as I. Anyway, I hope your find what you're looking for

Anything that isn't Marxism-Leninism is a good bet.

Get a good grasp of the basics of Marxism before choosing a tendency, my advice.
Just read, read and study. You will find what suites you best, just take your time.

Tendencies are a good way to debate things with people who share your views but seen as your fairly new to leftism it's best to get an understanding of all the basics first; only then should you proceed to research each tendency and formulate opinions on which you agree with most.
After you've got the basics down just remember: be independent, be objective and above all else only choose what YOU think is right.
And welcome to revleft comrade! :D

Don't ask internet strangers what your politics should be.

The different 'tendencies' are just people who agree with each other on certain things or who come from the same tradition, within the different groups there is a lot of disagreement anyways so don't worry too much about fitting in.
The best thing to do would be to learn as much as you can, most people just naturally fall into place in one of the groups eventually.

It's not about joining a tendency. Do as much reading as you can, eventually you'll develop your own perspective and you'll see how a tendency fits into your own personal idea, or at least, comes very close.
TBH, I never even gave a thought to tendencies until I joined revleft.

I didn't join a tendency for months. Just focus on reading theory and see where you fall in naturally.

As the others have said: study, read, and you will find your position naturally as you progress.

For myself, even if I'm a convinced Maoist, I would join in real life the people with the tendency that are the most active in real struggles, fighting in the street, related with the masses, in the proletarian neighborhoods, with the most accurate critics of the system, etc. and at the same time of doing this, read, study, learn, etc. Probably that in the Western world, this means hang out with Anarchists, Insurrectionalists, Situationnists, etc. In the Eastern world, this probably means Maoist or Guerilla/Intifada inspired tendencies.
And in this, I have lot of respects for different people from various tendencies.
Being another trotskyst just mean chill out on the Internet, having a card member of a obscure electoralist party with no influence and absolutely no intentions to make revolution (and I'm truly sorry to say this, do not want to offend anybody; but the truth when you care about world revolution is that you have to do something)

Tendencies are basically 4th, 5th and 6th generation feuds between the various cultists of long dead, power-struggling russian, german, chinese or albanian people over the definition of marxist orthodoxy in matters that are getting less and less relevent as decades pass: e.g., shallow circlejerks who dare to take Stalin's overturning of Lenin's NEP in the 1920's as the be-all and end-all of leftist debates in the age of social networks and the Arab Spring.
Said otherwise, do not take them too seriously.

In light of the fact that the largest rev socialist organizations in the US and UK are Trotskyist, it's funny you implore people to avoid Trotskyism because doing so means wedding yourself to an irrelevantly small sect. The part about "electoralism" is just baffling.

I don't entirely agree with this, but it was still lol worthy.

You could always declare yourself a 'pan-leftist', given that it is basically meaningless and amounts to saying that you have no idea what you're talking about.

If you think "all are equal, but some are more equal than others" join a vanguard. Otherwise libertarian socialism.

I agree. You simply can't jump into a group without understanding the basics, nor can any of us answer your question. You must study and look into it yourself, find what fits. I've declared myself many things throughout the years until I educated myself enough to see what I feel was best. You'll know when it comes.

Learn some about Pan-Leftism before you speak.

Since everyone seems to be repeating themselves and things are simply degenerating at this point, I am closing this thread.
