I'm trying to find a name of a guy who I believe was American that was in support of the Khmer Rouge and went over to Cambodia either pre-occupation or just when they seized power. Before his departure, he'd advocate them through presentations around the US. He was killed in battle. That's really all the information I can remember. Any help would be appreciated.

I stumbled across his page on Wikipedia years ago. And yes, but he came when they claimed power, gave presentations to Americans about their cause, and supported them (even in battle). I think that was rather rare.

Why would you do that?

But you can't recall any of the details.
