In addition to the general structure of it that I don't much care for, something about it's yuppy bourgeois origins (and the fact that it'll be making those same yuppies involved in it's creation millions and billions of dollars this Friday) really annoys me.

What'd be great is some sort of anti-Facebook. There's Diaspora*, but it seems like the project isn't doing too well.

For some reason, Google doesn't annoy me the same way Facebook does, even though both are billion dollar companies and such.

I sign into my Facebook profile maybe once or twice a month now. It's not important to me. I only do that to stay in contact with people and keep track of certain interests (music artists, films, ect).

I deleted my Facebook profile and the e-mail address associated with it. Livin' the dream, baby.

I hate it but I still use it for contact with family, since I can't be bothered actually calling them or going to them.

I avoided it for a while before getting sucked in...I use it to keep in touch with friends and family whom I can't visit in person regularly. Well, that and my university's debate team organizes some events partly via Facebook.

I don't really hate it, though....I do hate how it's sometimes used.
