More good news:

It is understood, that the Trades Union Congress (TUC), is proposing a national demonstration, against the UK government's cuts and austerity measures :) :star:

While it's always good news when demo's are called especially by reformist organisations such as the TUC. But lets beware that their whole rational is an attempt to put themselves at the front of the resistance to the continuing capitalist attacks. I think it would be useful to build for the demo but on a revolutionary platform calling for independent working class action to bring down the government and not some mealy mouthed appeal to be let back at the negotiating table which is the TUC objective.

Also why wait until October by then more austerity packages will hhave been unveiled and more services lost and jobs scrapped. By then Greece may have imploded and the bankks demanding even larger hand outs.

Or it could be that the TUC wants us to both demonstrate and commemorate the Russian October 1917 Bolshevik led revolution as a warning to the bourgesie what will happen if they carry on their attacks. Well I can dream can't I?????

The TUC's sense of urgency is inspiring to us all.

If the leadership didn't think that there was enough anger from union members then they would never have even called one as late as October. The various union leaders who have sold their members pensions know that the rank and file are angry and want to fight. Unfortunately there are not enough workplace militants and not enough confidence within the class generally to simply walk out of work. To try to rebuild that confidence will have to be done against the influence of the TUC and wider labour movement.

TU leaders are a privileged layer between the us and the bosses. They are so far up the arses of capital, as to be ruling class themselves.

But the leaders of the unions are few, we are many. Who the hell is a TU boss to take the lead and tell us what to do? Answer: a fucking nobody.

revhope's comments are most welcome. The power lies in our hands. The sell-out privileged assholes at the top of the TU ladder, can be disregarded in the same way the management and the bosses can.

And of cos, industrial action and 'downing tools' is but one aspect of our mobilisation. Class resistance takes many forms, campaigns around unemployment, discrimination, cuts to disability benefits and so forth.

And yes, revhope, we can dream. From small acorns do tall oaks grow lol :) :star:
