There was an overall increase of hate crime cases of 14 per cent, with just over 6000 charges being reported.

...what is wrong with some people? I can't conceive of hating someone enough to attack them / harass them, especially if it's for nothing more than just being (being homosexual, being disabled etc).

Yep. It's a shitty state of affairs, comrades.

I have direct personal experience of it myself, having been verbally abused due to my mental health problems, and also my sexual orientation (bisexual).

Last week, three yobs were yelling out 'bum basher' as I was walking back to my flat after visiting my parents, and one of them commented 'he better not look at my arse'

He needn't have worried on that score, cos he was right fucking ugly bastard :star:
