The mass dismissal of workers that started early 2012 still continues. The dismissals started from Shagab Khodro Company and have gradually continued through Ingot Iron and Steel Company, Ahwaz Brick Company, Navid Manganese of Esfahan and Felazkar of Tehran. Now more workers are facing this catastrophe.
The dismissal of Faraman steel Bars Company and Housing Mehr of Kermanshah is only one of the examples of the mass dismissal in last few days. At the same time the number of protests and strikes by dismissed workers has increased. Besides the protest by Shagab Khodro, Felazkar of Tehran, Mazandaran Textile Company there are dozens more protests which still continue alone as well as with the workers' families in front of public institutions. The protest of two thousand seasonal workers of Haft Tapeh Sugarcane Company on Thursday and Friday of last week in the yard of the company, has given new dimensions to the workers' struggle. According to ILNA the seasonal workers who cut the sugarcane usually work through the season but this year, despite 3500 acres of canes remaining, the managerial team told workers not to come to work.
Working class of Iran
The Iranian workers are confronting a very difficult time due to the stopping of the production line and the mass dismissals that have occurred since early 2012. Companies have implemented these policies in order to increase their profits. Cutting subsides is another example of these policies. The Iranian capitalist system cut the bread on the table of the working class people by increasing the price of fuel by cutting subsidies.
Working class of Iran
The Islamic Republic of Iran is in a deep economic crisis. Iran’s Regime and the capitalist class in Iran are transferring all this economic crisis onto the shoulders of the working class by mass dismissal and by arresting worker activists.
Only through a national united protest and strike action, can the working class cause the capitalist system to retreat. It is the task of working class people to join and support the protest and strikes by the affected workers.
The organisation of Fadaian (Aghaliyat) strongly condemns the dismissal of workers and the arrest of the militant workers and demands the immediate release of workers and their return to their jobs without delay. The Fadaian (Aghaliyat) supports the workers strike and demands wages for the dismissed workers for each and every of the days they have been laid off.
