I-was-watching-a-political-debate-show-where-people-can-vote-for-who's-position-they-support

the-debate-was-the-communist-party-leader-wanting-to-add-'nationality'-to-peoples-internal-passports

he-kept-talking-about-how-'the-russian-people-should-lead'-and-it-should-be-in-the-Constitution-that-Russians-lead-the-government.

He-got-more-than-600%-more-votes-then-his-opponent-who-said-they-should-do-away-with-internal-passports-and-'Russian'-can-he-any-citizen-who-speaks-russian-and-accepts-russian-culture.

The-communist-party-is-ultra-nationalist-and-racist,,,the-billionaire-'liberal'-prokhorov-says-he-wants-to-close-the-border-with-central-asia-and-install-the-most-strict-visa-regime.---the-curent-protest-movements-main-star-says-russia-should-''stop-feeding-the-Caucasus!!''

This-isnt-even-mentioning-theskinheads,etc.

Why-is-it-like-this-in-Russia?--I-have-heard-that-if-the-bolsheiks-hadent-won-then-there-would-be-a-russian-word-for-fascism.

In my opinion, the Russian economic crisis has made them to turn to more radical views, thus leading some part of the society of becoming more patriotic and nationalistic as they consider that Russia must be protected.

Other reason for rising patriotism is due to old and strong Russian culture which is not bad, but has it's old-long roots from the past, and from part of education, right-wingers will glorify the glorious Russian Empire, or left-wingers will glorify the powerful Soviet Union. Thus despite of that Russia has always been developing along side with other smaller countries next to it, Russians still position them self as a center point of all those achievements.

The Russian federation is still multicultural and still each citizen is being known either as Russian or someone from other local state nationality, but if they radicalize their national policy they might start to focus on united nation ''Russian'' something similar to American, with one identity but with different background.
