Book O'Dead
16th May 2012, 14:07
My eyes are too filled with tears to write, so I'll have my private secretary do it for me. One moment...

Okay this is Book's secretary. I'm not a very sentimental person so I'll limit myself to conveying for him how this song made him cry. He's crying right now. He's bawling and has thrown himself on the floor in a state of melancholic prostration, all because of this stupid song!

Now he's reaching for his gun...wait a minute.. Nooooooooooooo! Oh, God, he's shot himself in the head! He's just lying there, gushing blood all over the fucking place! Oh my God, my god...

You asshole! You merciless, son-of-a-*****! how could you possibly post the saddest song in the world knowing that Revleft is populated by the most sentimental people on Earth; the most prone, the most likely to blow their peanut at the slightest hint of sad, drippy-eyed shit posted in You Tube?

Now this sad, demented idiot is dead at my feet, my shoes are covered in blood and shattered skull and brain tissue and I"M OUT OF A FUCKING JOB!

I'm suing someone for this...

I know it is overused but I still get very emotional when I hear Bach's Air. It is sad but it is not depressed, on the contrary there is hope in the sadness.

I'm not good with YouTube links on this site, but make sure you listen to the album in order to get the full effect. The album is a story about a hospice worker that falls in love with a patient.

the saddest songs are often the benign poppy super overplayed music that trigger memories but here's some sad ones that also do that I guess

I'll find these types of videos on youtube with just the picture and the music or I'll be listening to ambient/piano/drone and looking at random pictures or videos like that stars of the lid with the twin peaks footage and my imagination goes pretty crazy and I get super depressed. I make all these connections and create this hugely elaborate story.

Adoniran has some depressive songs, holy crap.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtP3dTexAbE

In this one he talks about this girl called Iracema, about how she was his biggest love ever and stuff. He says that he always told her to be careful while crossing the street, but she was hit by a car and died 20 days before they got married.

And then he loses her picture, and all he has now are her socks and shoes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NCvDg6E3JQ&feature=related

This one is about the people from the favelas being kicked out of their houses by the government officials, who actually hate their job and see how bad it is. So basically everybody is sad, except for the borgeois.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6C6ezqRYWug

This one has a happier melody, but talks about how he and his friends basically squatted a building downton, but one day the tractors and men came and just knocked down the whole thing. In another song he says that his friends are now homeless or in jail, and he works in a pottery.

Awesome music and lyrics, proletarian as f**k!

Yeah, Gary Jules' "Mad World" is probably one of the most heart wrenching tunes imaginable. Alter Bridge's "Isolation" kind of hits home for me so personally its one of the saddest songs. I listen to a lot of metal, and I find the songs that really get to me in that way are instrumental tracks, like Veil of Maya's "Eclipse". That song kills me every time.

Most songs about mental health make me sad. I guess they strike a chord.

Silverchair - Ana's Song

Also songs about social injustice. Sometimes I read about where they come from and I'll just sit at my computer crying over wikipedia articles about lynchings.
