Check this Tory bastard out:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/9263453/500000-to-lose-disability-benefit.html

Iain Duncan Smith, the Work and Pensions Secretary, is planning on pushing ahead with Government reforms to reassess disabled peeps.

There is a plan to dispense with the Disability Living Allowance (DLA), and introduce a new benefit, the Personal Independence Payment (PIP).

The objectionable tosser reckons that losing a limb does not necessarily qualify you for disability payments, but rather how it effects you.

Too bad for him, that there is campaign underway, to tell him to fuck the hell off:

My other half has two family members who claim disability (for epilepsy and spina bifida respectively)...cruel irony is that one of them, mainly due to ignorance, identifies themselves as a tory supporter, speaks highly of Thatcher etc.

I got a mate with epilepsy, and mental health problems too, going back years. She's been re-assessed, and had her (supposedly) indefinite award of DLA totally withdrawn, and has been told she must claim the Employment Support Allowance (ESA), and attend 'work focussed interviews.

It's making her ill man, and it really, really pisses me off :star:

It's shit mate, the whole philosophy of this govt, 'You know the payments you've been relying on for years because you really can't work? Well, they're going now and we're going to make you work because that's what it's all about; work and growth and labour to exploit, praise the FTSE'

That's exactly what the bastards are about.

There are millions in the dole queue, and there are thousands and thousands more disabled peeps who are arbitrarily found 'fit for work', about to join them. That's even more people chasing non-existent jobs.

Of cos, many of these are gonna find themselves on 'workfare', i.e., slave labour and working for benefits. And naturally, when paid employees retire or move on, the workers that replace them won't be waged/salaried, but taken off the dole. It's a win-win situation for the bosses all round.

Well let them carry on with their plan. Cos it won't be too long until the shit hits the fan, and the anger boils right over.

The sooner we get the parasitical ruling class off our backs, the fucking better :star:

Here in my state our legislators are decreeing rather large tax cuts and refusing funding for individuals with disabilities. They're also reallocating funds from public universities to cover the expenditures caused by their tax cuts.

Problem is that the unions are doing nothing to help to build any campaigns against the dismantling of the social safety net. While the Labour Party are total waste of space. At times I despair whether there is going to be any meaningful fightback in the UK.
