This is a statement of Iranian Fadaians. its two years old but the question of Mandatory Hijab is still new. many people get arrested, tortured and even raped in prison every year because of Mandatory Hijab. the reason behind it is not only religious, its political as well. its a form of terrorizing people.
The Mandatory Hijab should be Repealed
Conscious and oppressed working class people in Iran!
Workers, youth, oppressed people!
The Islamic Republic is once again starting to threaten and force the women of Iran to wear the full hijab.
Every year, especially during the warmer months of the year, the Islamic Republic increases the humiliation, oppression and arrests of women for breaches of the dress code. During elections last year, government officials oppressed women less than during previous years in relation to the hijab. But this year they are oppressing the public more than before.
The brutal government of Iran, specifically the judiciary, have declared that, “Unveiled women are a danger for moral security. We must implement the full hijab for women to have a moral society.” The hypocritical government talks about a moral society while they are raping and torturing innocent people in jail.
There is no doubt that all the propaganda by Iran’s regime, for the mandatory hijab, aims to create a fearful environment in society and tries to mislead the people from class struggle. But the working class women in Iran consciously persist in fighting to build the classless society and abolish the capitalist system in Iran. That’s why the Iranian regime is afraid of the role of women in revolutionary struggle.
Women activists in Iran!
The Islamic Republic knows better than anyone that their regime is the main source of corruption. Throughout the entire history of Iran there was never been this much corruption. The gap between the ruling and working classes has increased dramatically. The age of prostitution has been reduced to less than 13 years old.
The regime itself knows that the right to choose one’s dress code will not harm moral security, but what is harming moral security are capitalist class relations. A set of social relationships in which - on one side is the pro-capitalist government that is using state power to exploit more working class people and heavily loot and plunder the country’s resources – and on the other side is the vast majority of the Iranian population who don’t have homes and can hardly survive and have a meal a day. The
regime implements their reactionary and brutal laws by using the reactionary and the armed forces. The corruption will increase while this regime remains in power. The state corruption, which with one signature can put millions of dollars in their own accounts and, with another signature, can imprison decent people for long periods or can execute prisoners.
Conscious and oppressed women in Iran!
The right to choose one’s dress code is one of the most basic rights of women. We are not only fighting for equal rights for men and women but also fighting for social and political equality between men and women in all aspects of social life. That is one of the goals of our struggle. The Islamic Republic is targeting one of your basic rights in forcing the veil onto Iranian women. This is not only a humiliation for women but also a symbol of oppression.
Women activists in Iran!
Fight against the repression by raising the slogan of, “Down with the mandatory hijab!” Don’t let the brutal regime drive you back from your rights. The Iranian regime could become worse than the Taliban if you don’t struggle for your rights. Anywhere that security forces attack anyone, stand up to support each other. Ask for help from all people. Don’t forget if you retreat a step the enemy will get more aggressive. Stick together, support each other and don’t let brutal forces arrest you
while you are alone.
Oppressed people of Iran!
Conscious men and fighters!
Support the social and political equality of women in all aspects of life. Support the abolition of the mandatory hijab. And support freedom of choice in dress code which is one of the most basic rights of women. Don’t let brutal armed forces arrest them. Defending women’s rights is part of our inalienable struggle for all workers and oppressed nations in Iran. Know that in recent situations the regime’s target is not only the mandatory hijab, but they also make it an excuse to create fear in society and divide people.
Overthrow the Islamic Republic Regime!
Long live the establishment of the Soviet State!
