Today, I was to meet a friend at his home. I asked for directions, planning to take public transport and walk the remainder. Telling him my plans, my friend replied with directions and an enigmatic "Me gusta." Little did I know that I would be spending three hours lugging around an unwieldy portfolio of art materials, on foot, in the hot sun, uphill. As it turns out, my friend would have been more than willing to have picked me up at the railway station, but "Me gusta" apparently meant that he was curious to see if I could survive the trek on my own.
As an aside, his family seems to be very well-off. I was shocked to find that he lived in an enormous dwelling that looked like a mosque adorned with statues imitating Greco-Roman sculpture.
