Hello everyone.

I'm a 20 years old Italian with a pretty rough political past, as I've been raised by a family of Mussolini "nostalgics" and I've been strongly supporting radical right-wing politics in my early teen years, and thus supporting philosophies such as nationalism, conservatism, racism and more.

Over time I realized the flaws of my past views, and I've been progressively moving to the left wing. After a brief period during which I actually rooted for the socialdemocrats and which inevitably ended up in great disappointment, I came to the conclusion that I had to move further to the left.

I've been following this forum as guest and reading up on communism from other sources for quite some time now, and I feel that even though I have much to learn and many questions that need answers, this is the right place for me.

For now, I feel particularly close to Marxism-Leninism, and I've also always been a convinced environmentalist, to the point where 4 years ago I picked up vegetarianism and stuck with it. I am however open to new philosophies -I wouldn't even have joined this forum in the first place otherwise-, and I am definitely willing to learn.

It's fantastic to be able to talk openly about a subject that I otherwise am forced to keep silent about due to the environment I live in, but I'm also up for some much more relaxed talk depending on my mood, so generally, I just hope I'll have a good time. :)

See you around!

Congratulations on turning your back on the scumbag beliefs of the far-right.

And cool on embracing the left, and your willingness to learn.

Other than that, welcome! :) :star:

Thanks for the warm welcome. It was indeed a slow and very hard process, especially because I am going against the ideals of pretty much everyone I know in real life. I owe my change to the people I've met on marvelous internets over the years ;)

And that's the first time I'm being called a comrade. I like it, it's cozy. And it feels definitely new :D

Welcome comrade! Really glad to see that people do turn their back on reactionary positions. It really cheers me up to see that it does happen. :)

Hey Comrade! Congratulations on dropping your right-wing views although I hope that this hasn't caused too much of a breakdown between you and your family. I see that you're interested in Marxism-Leninism in which case you may want to join the Marxist-Leninist group (http://www.revleft.com/vb/group.php?groupid=46) to ask your questions and find other Marxist-Leninists to talk with. But feel free to message me too if you have any questions :)

Hey Comrade! Congratulations on dropping your right-wing views although I hope that this hasn't caused too much of a breakdown between you and your family.

Well, truth be told the relationship with me and my family has always been a bit difficult, and this hasn't made much of a difference considering that I'm keeping it for myself. Thanks for the concern!

Nope, or at least that's what I perceive. Maybe it is, or maybe I'm just dreaming. Maybe I should just quit wine.
