All government departments will have the same logo in future in an effort to improve online services, the Cabinet Office has confirmed.
A single website to access all government services and information is being introduced.
As part of this, departments will start using a standard government logo, but in their own 'brand' colour.
A spokesperson said there was "no cost to the taxpayer" as the changes are being developed in-house.

Found this story interesting..in the sense that it's amusing that it's even a news story (who cares what logos they're using??)
But also that this will serve as another constant reminder that we are all subjects of the crown; every MP has to swear allegance to the monarch and their heirs, our anthem is God Save the King / Queen, their face is on the currency...*heavy sigh* Depresses me :(

Mmmmmmmm, sweet delicious constitutional monarchy.

But really, it's just an appeal to patriotism and loyalty to our 'heritage' in order to improve the image of the ruling class. I wouldn't so much say that we are still under the rule of a monarch, she doesn't actually have any power. She is however a symbol of heirarcy and subordination to the state.
