Nuclear war?

I read Castro worrying about a 'nuclear winter' or whatever.

But is a single, isolated, tactical nuclear strike really that horrible? Of course it's horrible but is it really the end of the world?

How powerful are weapons today?

If one were to hit Cuba it wouldn't destroy the country or anything but it would be enough to wipe out whatever progressive aspects remained of the Party and government (along with many,many people). In short: destructive enough to the point that we would never want any such weapon to be unleashed.
