View Full Version : Do people worship authority?

My cousin went to Vietnam, was treated like crap because he was Indian (even though he's very rich). OTOH, he observed that the Americans were treated like celebrities.

This got me wondering ... do people worship authority more than anything, more than even wealth? My friend's wealth earned him no respect, but the vietnamese respect Americans who bombed the crap out of them.

Is it then possible that people only respect strength, even if that strength had hurt them in the past?

Money is just a means to buy authority, really.

Why did all of his threads contain "my cousin" or "my friend." I'm glad this troll was banned.
