Someone takes a picture of refurbished housing in East Germany, and this proves that East Germany was a terrible place? Let me tell you, many of those places were far nicer than parts of my country. And I live in the richest country in the world.
Also, don't you think the German government would be inclined to make such radical changes in East Germany to quell those who want to return to Socialism?

While I agree Liberalist capitalism has created better living Standards than Socialism for East Germany, it's quite unfair, those images. There are deserted and run down places in all nations, and the fact that in Liberal Capitalism, some of those places improved while some others rotted into shit isn't a argument of quality to make, to validate such.

I mean, they basically took some of the shittiest places in East Germany and re invented such. So? I'm sure a lot of nice places that existed there turned out, or are turning out to look simliiar to shit.

Anyway, it's not this simple, and it's a much more complex matter, East Germany and it's unification. We have seen a lot of Former citizens of the East Germany are nostalgic, and this should be an indicator that the "Socializm bad, Liberalizm gud" model isn't necessarily completely valid (But Capitalism has, for the most part, been better for a lot of postSocialist states, that is, the ones that Imperialists care about, i.e. East Germany).
