The folding double decker bus was shite, the logo is shite, the mascots are shite, the stadium is shite, the public art is shite, the clock is shite, the expense is shite, the paranoia is shite and it's being sponsored by Dow Chemicals which makes it all one nice, tight, shitey package. On a similar note, I saw a picture in the press recently, of how some of the police will be armed, and the sort of body armour they will be wearing, for the Olympics. Fuck me, I thought I was looking at something out of Universal Soldier or something.

If they could crash a plane into the Olympic stadium, they could crash a plane into Buckingham palace or the Houses of Parliament, although Shard London Bridge or Canary Wharf would be easier. I'd like to try and see Philip Hammond justify potentially blowing a plane up over London... that's probably going to be more of a 'PR' disaster than crashing one into the Stadium itself... at least then it's a tragedy, and not just some posh moron knocking a passenger plane out of the sky over a densely populated metropolis. Not like this shit is going to happen anyway, with or without SAM sites dotted around the place.
