I'm gonna watch it. Any thing to look out for?
For those who are unfamiliar The Trotsky is a film based on a highschool boy who believes he is the reincarnation of Leon himself
It's kinda meh. Some parts are moderately amusing.

One of the worst films I have ever seen. It´s just embarrasing.

I am at the scene where he thanks the homeless guy for not pissing on him
I watched it half asleep and it was good, but upon looking back on it it's not good.

I liked it a lot! If you're comfortable laughing at yourself it's really funny. It's better than most other movies that come out at any rate.

The parody of the Odessa Steps sequence is very smart. The movie is more than good as an entertainment.
Here`s a link to the original Odessa Steps http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jebW5-G2HTs

Yeah just finished it. I cried and laughed at the end. Sad moment him saying goodbye. Then his dad gave him Mao's little red book. I started cracking up

I hope they have a second one because my mind was gasping at the comedic possibilities with Leon being with a reincarnated Lenin.

A reincarnated Marx would be hilarious

I really liked it, it had comedy that you are only going to get if you know history.

I found it very entertaining. Keep in mind it's a bit absurdist.

It was a cute idea executed in a rather mediocre manner. I found myself wishing it had been made by Wes Anderson.

It's a decent movie. Not very memorable and not laugh out loud funny but pleasant enough to sit through. Don't be dissuaded by this faint praise because it is worth spending two hours watching
I can't do that on mah iPhone.....or can I????Having an iPhone is a very bourgeois characteristic... To the guillotine!

it was good for a few laughs but really i wasnt too impressed. reminded me of all the people who try to "be" people like lenin trotsky or stalin and it just killed me inside.
and from the outside, it makes people like us look like loons.

That's what it was for I think. I get the feeling that it was written by a leftist that liked to laugh at himself. I may be wrong but that's what I took away from it and why I found it funny and genuine. Leon was insane though :D

Yep, that was better film.
I found myself wishing it had been made by Wes Anderson.
I'm not a particularly big fan of Wes Anderson...but I agree. I feel his style would have paired really well with the concept, extremely well. It'll be kinda like Rushmore, but more commie.

I found it to be quite funny, but could have delved a bit deeper into Trotsky's ideas, and the Dwight character could have been more prominent.

I'm with Brosip T. I thought The Trotsky was wonderfully entertaining. I only just discovered this thread a few minutes ago. Earlier today, I was at the comic book store, looking for a used copy of The Trotsky to buy. I was intrigued by the idea of forming student unions, which now seems obvious, at secondary schools.
(I am guessing the family name of the actor, Jay Baruchel, is actually from Hebrew; if so, it means something like "Blessed is G-d." Anyway, Baruchel the young actor is great in this movie.)

I enjoy the film. I did an interview with the director for my website about Left wing films http://leftfilmreview.net/2012/01/27/left-film-review-exclusive-interview-with-the-director-of-the-trotsky/
As well as a review of the film of course http://leftfilmreview.net/2010/11/08/the-trotsky-2010/
