Today, May 5, we celebrate the birthdays of one if not the greatest philosopher of Communism this world has ever know. Happy Birthday to Karl Marx
Karl Marx might be 194 years old now, but his theories are still valid and needed to this date. Happy Birthday.

I've never understood the need to celebrate dead people's birthday's. It's not as though he's been forgotten or like we need to take a moment to be thankful for his work. I mean I read bits of his work at least a few times a week. So what's the point?
I know that sounds a little harsh I didn't really mean it to, just genuinely curious why you feel the need to mark people's birthdays, I don't get it.

It does seem a tad cultish. Happy Marxmas everybody!

Really it's kust tp remember the man and honor is contributions. If we don't keep his legacy alive people can try and rewrite it. Such has been the way of the world. i.e. People Deny the Holocaust.
Lets not let that happen to Karl Marx.

Happy B-Day pappy Marx, I will never forget you.Though you were a stern discipline and made me share my means of production with the other children I will always keep you in my heart as being a revolutionary senior citizen provocateur.
I don't know how I will move on without him :crying:

How do we remember his contributions, by 'celebrating' his birth day or studying his works throughout?
If we don't keep his legacy alive people can try and rewrite it.
First, how do we keep his legacy alive, by typing "congratulations" on a forum, or by studying and discussing his works throughout?
Secondly, yeah, no. Not really. How the fuck is anyone supposed to rewrite his legacy?
Lets not let that happen to Karl Marx.
By congratulating him on a public forum, gotcha. Now no one can rewrite the day that he was born.

Who the fuck cares when this bloke was born?

I don't think that we do this out of genuine concern for Marx, rather because he was AWESOME.

I hear that every Marxmas, Karl Marx comes and puts presents under the tree for all of the revolutionary boys and girls and gives coal to all of the bourgeoisie.

I don't know about other people, but I just look for any excuse to celebrate. You might as well ask 'what's the point of May 1st'.

Don't they want coal?

Only so their ghosts don't feel bad when they check their ghost-facebook pages.
Cinco de Marx-o! Lol, good one!
Calling him a "philosopher of communism" would piss him off and he'd beat your ass silly.
Seriously, don't.
