There was absolutely no "corruption" of power. The State acts differently in accordance to different material conditions. Especially a state like the Bolshevik one, acting on behalf of a proletariat, that of which was a minority.

Say, for example, a very authoritarian state is established on behalf of the proletariat. If we assume the Revolution would have been international, there isn't a way for "Power to corrupt" as this isn't how class relations are formed. (I.e The Bourgeois state, no matter how authoritairan, serves Bourgeois class).
