Language is how.When you call another person,object,event,etc a word with negative connotations you are attributing that person (etc) to the cultural meanings of the word. For example, when teenagers call things they dislike gay that automatically presumes that there is something wrong with homosexuals as to warrant using it as a derogatory phrase.Same basic principal when using words like the "C Word."

You think this is something bad, you should see how African American churches deal with those who stray from their rigid doctrine. I'd hate to say it, but the United States is such a reactionary country that he will likely go unpunished on the grounds of his freedom to religion and speech. This same logic goes into supplying fascists with police escorts to march through minority neighborhoods, while at the same time using pepper-spray on peaceful protesters sitting on a sidewalk. We care more about abstract freedoms than the freedom of adults and children not to be terrorized.

This is true. In Britain, the word "****" doesn't have any especially sexist connotations, at least no moreso than the word "dick". I understand that this isn't the case in North America, however and given that most English speaking users of this forum are from North America, it might be a good idea to refrain from using it all the same.

Well, Christianity doesn't necessarily need any assistance looking bad. They condemn what they see as "degeneracy" and "moral turpitude", yet their holy text dictates that you should burn your house down if you find mold, treat female bodied individuals as property, endorses slavery, and also says that people can rise from the dead, walk on water, and turn into pillars of salt in a nanosecond. And the kicker is that they constantly lambast Muslims for things in the Qur'an, yet the two are virtually identical and both have a history of brutal violence and oppression.

as someone who grew up pentecostal I can tell you this kind of stupidity is in no short supply in the USA. The fact that they encourage teens to go overseas on mission trips to promote their reactionary bigotry in the third world is only more sickening, but for some reason most of society applauds this as "charity".
