My dad tried to get me to put some money into Bear Sterns before it got bought up, when it was $2 a share. He said "This is going to skyrocket soon. Go get your cash stash let's do this" but the bank transfer wouldn't go through, something about a third-party wire transfer being officially a royal pain in the ass, approved by the queen of England herself.
I had about $1000 in savings I was going to put into it at the time, and would have come out with $10,000 after a week or so, then the plan was to throw it at Delta, which was about to go up, and I would have at least doubled that. But, again, the wire transfer wouldn't go through, so I couldn't even go after the first one (Bear Sterns). Le sigh. Both Bear Sterns and Delta behaved exactly like we thought, so some folks got extremely rich those two weeks.
I have about $300 in a mutual fund right now, but I'm way too broke to add any more. Aside from that, no.
