Extremely, by all accounts. The peasantry and the middle classes had absolutely nothing to do with it. And quite spontaneous, not really led by any political parties, which had been driven underground. Though in terms of what the workers wanted, pretty close to what had been the majority party of the workers before the Tsarist axe of repression came down during WWI, namely the Bolsheviks.

The results were a "dual power" situation, with it not clear at all whether the self-appointed bourgeois Provisional Government or the workers' Soviets were in charge.
