In the District of Colombia, which houses Washington D.C. the capital of the United States, the average Life Expectancy of African Americans is 70.99 years. The average life expectancy of White Americans in the same District of Colombia is 83.07 years. Nearly 13 Years Difference!

Looks like Bonn moved to Washington D.C.?

Actually, rather unsurprising. If there is anything that's shocking about this reality, it is that African Americans in D.C. are living as long as they are. Given the conditions in which African Americans are expected to live in the D.C. area, I would have anticipated an average life expectancy of several years less.

Hello, you know the problem of many people in the USA? That many people in this country judge the reality of the USA using their eyes, and senses. They think that racism only happens when a cop harasses blacks and poor people. But classism and racism can some times be worse in the form of economic-classism and economic-racism in which for example spanish people, people from Middle East nations and even white people from former-USSR nations earn a lot less, than many people and sectors of this country that have social bonds and connections and relationships with the big fish and with economic hot shots of the USA.

Man in USA in order to get out of poverty you gotta know somebody from the upper classes that can give you a lift. It is almost impossible in America to get out of poverty without the helping hand of somebody from the upper classes. Only people with super good abilities like good baseball players, great musicians etc. can get out of poverty by themselves in USA

Yes, i understand, but wtf?! Just the difference in the color of the skin that you are born with decides over whether you live 13 years more in your life. And this in the capital city, how is this possible? Are black people put into ghettos, is this central government policy, state apartheid? That is quite shocking.

Yup that's pretty much it. It's nationwide thing, too. Black people generally have the worst of everything -- the worst neighborhoods, the worst schools etc. etc. etc.

It's not official government policy or anything. I'm not actually sure what the causes are, or how it happens.
