I hope this is permissible...

Are there any comrades in California or Cascadia (Oregon, Washington, British Columbia) who would be willing to possibly give a cute twenty-year-old male a couch to sleep on/a ride/a bag of chips from 7-11/whatever?

I ask because...

I am planning on leaving home (I currently reside in the L.A. area) and driving (or, if my situation is more urgent, hitchhiking -- I don't have my license yet) up north, ideally to Seattle/the general Puget Sound region, for various reasons. It's hardly a traditional move -- I may or may not be able to get a stable residence and job. I have a contact in the region who may be able to hook me up with a couch and a job, but there's a potential it may not work out. I have absolutely no real friends, and I was hoping that some comrades here might be the least bit generous. While there's nothing wrong with it, I'd like to avoid total hobo-ness if I can.

Even if you're only able to buy me a bag of chips from 7-11 or show me the good dumpsters to dive or whatever, I'd appreciate the help.

Please PM me, if you'd like.

My ideal location is the Puget Sound region (ideally Seattle or Olympia), but Portland is also acceptable. If the need arises, I can go with San Francisco, Northern California in general, Vancouver, and the "countrysides" of Cascadia. If I absolutely must I'll go east of the Rockies, but I'd like not to.

In general, if you have anything else to offer -- for example, any good jobs in a particular region -- that would be appreciated. Any advice, as well.

I'm planning on leaving, perhaps, this Summer, but I may be able to push back the date a bit, due to recent developments.

I live a few miles outside of Portland, if you find yourself in my neck of the woods I can probably buy you some fast food. Can't help with the job or place to stay unfortunately.

Thank you.

I forgot to mention that I won't be driving nigh-nonstop. I'll be stopping along the way to sleep and do some stuff -- ideally just two rest stops, SF and Portland, for a total of a three-day trip.

Although it's likely pretty easy compared to the US/Mexico border, to get across illegally, you do need a Passport/Visa to get into Canada nowadays legally. You can't just walk/drive across the border anymore.

So you're only going to be going to SF in California? Well then it looks like you miss where I live by a hour or two so I guess that's not happening.

Well, it depends. I might have to stop somewhere between SF and Portland, or between here and SF, and I might not be taking a very straightforward route. Plus I'll probably be taking minor stops along the way (just, not sleeping).
