Scientists who have conducted research into the DNA of young children, have found that those who are subjected to domestic violence and abuse, may suffer from premature ageing.

10 year olds exhibit DNA damage associated with ageing, and their lives could be considerably shortened.

Interesting article. Of those I've met that went through domestic violence and abuse don't really appear older, but they certainly act older. I guess it affects the brain before the more visible physical side of things.
