They are in top 5 by GDP PPP

But how is it possible their imports and exports are so small?

They export less than tiny Singapore and Taiwan.

I'm aware a lot of Hong Kong exports are re-exports but I don't think thats enough to explain it.

Shouldn't they export more than Saudi Arabia which only has oil?

I'm learning economy and could use some help here..

The only superpower in the world is the United States.

The EU could also be considered one, but they need to become more federalized.

China needs a little more Development, perhaps it'll be there soon.

India needs a lot of progress.

Russia was a former superpower, but be considered one now means it'll have to recover its economic power from the Soviet era.

Brazil could eventually get there.

And Japan needs more global influence.

The countries I have listed are all considered 'powers.'

Edit: I read, and I thought you brought up some good points. Like I said, they can be considered a power. I recently read that they're trying to join the UN Security Council and are likely to be approved. Oh right, and India just passed Japan in PPP. Thanks thanks for reminding me Proven.

India is far from becoming a 'super power'. Technological developments, increased influence, a stronger and more vibrant economy, and it was just recently discovered their military wasn't all that it was cut out to be.

Super power usually denotes military power, usually the capability to fight a war anywhere in the world at any time. India would struggle to do that. Only China and the US maybe Russia would qualify.

I really wish I had chosen a different title, maybe people would read the OP

India is 3rd by PPP. India has low exports because of its previous protectionism policies.

perhaps you should have presented some data for people to have a look at. Cos I don't know about anyone else but my knowledge of India's economy is a little rusty. If you'd said Bangladesh or Thailand I'd of been like Boom I'm on that and given you a great answer because I know their imports and exports better than I know my own elbow but as I can't quite remember all the intrinsic details of the Indian economy I'm gonna need you to actually show wtf it is that you are talking about.

I'll make it lucid for you.The Republic of India from it's modern formation until 1991 enacted strict foreign trading policies, which made her exports undesirable. When they done away with protectionism policies, their exports have increased substantially.

India is a regional power in South Asia for sure, but very, very far from a 'super power' (a term people have already defined).

Until the 1990s Indian governments strived for autarky whilst there exists a vast market for any products produced in India itself and a large industrial base to supply it - so even today India doesn't need to engage in international trade as much as most countries. I am very suprised at just how little trade there is if your facts in the OP are true.
