This question would be far better posed without a poll. If I love Javanese Gamelan but hate K-Pop, should I still check Asian? (I don't particularly hate k-pop) The poll options are both highly eurocentric and falsely homogenizing. Anyway, the discussion topic itself is a good one, so here goes....

If forced to pick one answer, I'd probably choose American. The majority of music I love is from America.

However, I also love a lot of Caribbean music (reggae, ska, dancehall, soca, calypso, dub, reggaeton), African (afrobeat, high life, whatever you wanna call Malian kora music), Chinese (teochew), Indonesian (gamelan), Brazilian (baile funk), Angolan (kudoro) and whatever country you'd say for klezmer. England and Ireland have also produced some amazing musicians in all sorts of genres.

I'll post some videos later

I'm a big fan of middle-eastern music. It seems to cross cultural barriers particularly easily.

Norwegian metal is a very important aspect of the Norwegian culture.

Along with burning churches. And Neo-Nazis murdering Stalinists.

I used to love this Andean band called Alturas. The head of the band was the professor of woodwind instruments at the local uni.

I put Russian, but I also love Latin-American music. I'm also a fan of Jewish music, but that's probably because I was raised as a Jew.

I don't understand the sense or politics about grouping music into "cultural" or geographic spheres, considering music has often crossed physical and national borders.

This was hard. I selected Russia, since I'm a huge fan of its revolutionary tunes (The Red Army Choir) and they have many great composers (Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky, Rachmaninoff, Khachaturian).
I like all kinds of cultural music though. I really like French music. Music from India and the Middle East is fantastic. Traditional Japanese and Chinese music. Latin music. Norwegian black metal. Hungarian music. I love all the cultural diversity put into song.
