The private company G4S has won a contract with the UK Border Agency, to accommodate asylum seekers. It's been granted £203 million, in two 'super-contracts'.

But some commentators are predicting upheaval and unrest. The company has been accused of inhumane policies, and its staff are being investigated over the death of an asylum seeker, two years ago.

Asylum seekers, are too vulnerable to be left in the hands of greedy bastards, whose main concern is making a few quid, not the rights and wellbeing of those seeking refuge.

Do rightists wait for articles to pop up so that they can comment on them? Every article.. what about the tax payers.. tax payers.. As if $203 million was a cheap contract.

Of cos they fucking do. It's a hobby for reactionaries and boring old Tories. Any chance to moan and whinge about asylum seekers, the unemployed, single-parents, and they are right there.

In the aspect of immigrants, I'd think they'd be more pissed about letting 'non-white' folks in, you know the rightists are closet-racist, even in America they do all they can to oppress every racial demographic that isn't white, then they say 'We're not racist! We like Cuban-Americans in Florida, had Herman Cain run for president, and we liked him! And we even had Michael Steele be our chairman of the political party!

Any enterprise that's given a contract to perform any kind of civic duty is made dangerous by the profit motive. Like the child prisons (or 'children's homes' / 'correctional facilities') that are run for a profit. Judges sent minor offenders to serve months at a time and got a kick back from the company that ran it (can't remember the name of it now, ol' Michael Moore ref to it in 'Capitalism: a love story')

It probably doesn't need me saying, but I will anyway. The savings will prove to be a mirage, witness Transport, Schools, Colleges, Hospitals the burden on the tax payer, i.e. you and me , mushrooms. As for Asylum seekers, I never heard negative comments, though people were spitting feathers about phony ones, abusing the system. The whole system is in shambles, people who have had more than their fair share of life's miseries deserve better. Dignity. As we ourselves might hope for, if we were in their position, their shoes.

Empathy does some to fall by the way side when it comes to immigration / immigrants. People seem to revert to 'us versus them' and get hung up on the cost and the number of darker skinned faces they'll see and how it's so hard to understand some of them, nice as they are and blah blah blah not a racist buuuuuuuut..:cursing:

Whilst at work ,Kick, with peoples who's origins were from the 4 corners of the globe, I merely pointed out we had clear treaty obligations to give shelter to those fleeing persecution. A small point perhaps. It cannot be allowed to become a football for every nut, or as you say anti black or foreign prejudice. We are ill served by our media, they do much to muddy the water, poison the well.

Some of the clearest debates I have heard were at work and union branch. These people 1/2/3/4th generation migrants. A tiny number were Asylum claimants. Race was not mentioned, because it is not an issue of race. It is a human issue, pure and simple. In point of fact on the question of economic migration I observed the black workers were most set against mass immigration. They knew full well that their children would be hard hit for finding work. Their logic proved correct , with 50% black youth unemployment. Worse in some areas, obviously. No, we must hold the line and oppose demonising Asylum seekers, Britain must be a civilzed place to be.
