...I'm a man of wealth, and taste
I've been around for a long long year
Stole many a man's sole and faith...
Not a huge Rolling Stone's fan, but I've always liked that song.
Anyway, I'm an admin on another forum that appears to have fed a few members to this place. At any rate, that doesn't matter here and I don't expect any favors.
I'll cut to the chase, I'm in the mid-west US, right in tea-party land. I love the spirit of the people, I love the land, but I despise just about everything else, most especially the lies our society lives in order to be prosperous.
I was a born a Democrat, thought I was actually a Republican in my twenties and early thirties, and realized I was neither by about 34. I drifted a little, picked up "A People's History of the United States" and realized I couldn't possibly ever be a part of either party in the US again and look myself in the mirror.
At this point, I'm game for most far left angles though I lean anarchist the most. Contrary to popular belief, I enjoy a certain amount of good clean hard labor, as long as it's for an honest cause. I have two bachelor's degrees and am working on a masters in history. I teach to get by right now, but hope to write/accept a professorship before I die. (it may not happen).
I'm a fan of Zinn, Pilgar, Chomsky, anti-Imperialists, The Latin American revolutionaries, and anyone else who just generally believes the best way to beat a bully is to punch him in the face! :)
Just sayin,
Thanks for allowing me to join. Once I look around, I'll try and help out if my take is warranted.
