Someone asked me if I had any heros, and I told them no. But then I thought that maybe Che was my hero because of being a revolutionary. But then I thought "oh that's crazy, Che's just got a cool face that's on T-shirts everywhere" If Ernesto is a hero I want to know why he was a hero... ...getting Batista out of power?? He was just replaced by Castro who also dictates. I like Che but, Why? So is Che your hero? What makes him a hero? What did he do for you?

He devoted his life to righting the wrongs that plague this society (cultural imperialism, ect). He stood tall for what he believed in, and was not afraid to die for his beliefs.

well, it's not Che fault that Castro is a dictator. Che was a catalyst. He's my hero because he was so devoted to his cause that he was willing to die for it. That he DID die for it. He looked at the injustices in the world and gave everything he could to try and right them. Just like all my heroes, he stood and died for a cause that I too believe in.

They say its easy to die for what you beleive in. Whats hard is to kill for what you beleive in. Che did that. He just wasnt afraid to get his hands dirty for a positive end result. I do believe Che probably died of a broken heart , concerning Castro. After his letter was read to the Cuban People (but was meant to be read when he died) he had no choice but to leave Cuba.

he went to every possible extent to achieve his goals. Being that determine to do something that doesn't benfit you, in my eyes makes him an hero.

many people do simlair things, but he did everything and never thought of himself.

excatly.in the end he himself was the "the new socialist man" that he so aptly described in his essay on the subject.

I have often thought the same, that perhaps he is the only man ever to achive such a state of mind. He was selfless in every act, and would/will not rest until social justice has prevailed.

People have asked me who is my hero and I tell them that it is Che and if more people would ask the same question, the answer would always be the same. And you asked what he did for me that makes him my hero? Well, he might not have done something for me directly but he did do a great deal for many oppressed people, he fought for them and yes, Nezvanova, he died for them and that's reason enough to make him my hero. Not because he has a cool face and he appears in T-shirts everywhere.

But, I can't deny that Che is a sexy beast ;)
