Hello I am the above name. Like most I am here to learn about Communism and how it works. I found out that they're actually many ideologies in Communism and most disagree with each other. i.e. Trotszkyism, Stalinism, Ultra-Leftism. So one so forth. A lot of this stuff is very confusing to me and I am not the Chuck Norris of learning. So if I come across as stupid please have some mercy and patience.
I still have not found an ideology to cling to because I have no where to ask questions.
So I hope it is not rude that if I ask you guys some questions in my introduction.
What is Stalinism?
What is Trotzkyism?
What differs between the two?
What is Ultra-Left?
How does Communism work in a world that is not Communist?
I intend to ask more questions as we go along.
Thank You very much

Hello I am the above mentioned. Like most of you I am here to learn about Communism and how it works. Recently I have learned that they're actually many different ideologies to Communism and most of them don't agree with each other. i.e. Trotzkyism, Stalinism, and Ultra-Leftism. I am not exactly the Chuck Norris at learning so if I come across as stupid please have some mercy and patience.
I still have not found an ideaology to cling unto yet so i hope you don't mind if I ask a couple of questions on my intro.
Like, what is Stalinism and Trotzkyism and how do the two differ. What is Ultra-Leftism and how does that differ from others? How does a Revolution work? How does Communism work in a Capitalist world
Thank You

Stick around for a tendency war or two, it's easier to explain after you've seen this shit go down.

Don't worry, we won't kill you. :) There is even a learning section where you can ask whatever you want.
I still have not found an ideology to cling to because I have no where to ask questions.
That is perfectly fine. There is no police here that will arrest your account simply because you do not have a tendency. Take your time. Who knows, perhaps you might even decide, "Fuck tendencies, I'm free styling." And if you want to ask questions, you came to the perfect place.
So I hope it is not rude that if I ask you guys some questions in my introduction.
Questions are never rude on RevLeft, unless you make them so.

Stalinism is just a term meant to be insulting to Marxist-Leninists. There are really no such thing as "Stalinists." I am a Marxist-Leninist who follows the path of Stalin, but he comes ideologically after Marx, Engels, and Lenin. Marxism-Leninism is basically an ideology that takes Marxist theory and adds to it the concept of the vanguard, or a party of "professional" revolutionaries who will lead the working class to revolution and then protect its dictatorship from capitalist restoration, and a few other concepts such as socialism in one country, or the idea that socialism can be achieved in one nation.
Trotskyism basically takes Leninism (or what Marxist-Leninists find to be a revision of it) and adds ideas such as permanent revolution to it. Their ideology is really based on anti-Marxism-Leninism, in my opinion, but you should ask them yourself.
Ultra-leftism, or left communism if we are strictly talking about Marxism, is something I rather not address for fear that I might be extremely biased. All you should know is that Marxist-Leninists find it to be idealistic, while they see themselves as being orthodox Marxists.
Communism is achieved through proletarian revolution and cannot happen until the entire world becomes socialist first and then the state withers away. Communism is impossible in one nation or region. The whole world must be communist. Communism cannot work in a “in a world that is not Communist.” I think you might be confused with socialism or the dictatorship of the proletariat.
I intend to ask more questions as we go along.
Good.
Thank You very much
No need to thank us.
I hope you have a nice time here. Welcome!

Hi welcome :)
What is Stalinism?
Stalinism is the natural progression of Lenin's model for the soviet union. It's basically state capitalism with a bureaucratic class replacing the bourgeois. Stalinism is generally thought of as an insult by those who subscribe to that style of Leninism, they prefer Marxist Leninist
What is Trotzkyism?
Pretty much the same but they use different terminology to describe the soviet union. They think that if only Trotsky had become king of the soviet union instead of Stalin then everything would have been hunky dory. Most trotskyist parties today openly engage in populism and reformism. (they're both bad)
What is Ultra-Left?
Ultra-Left is an insult used against those who think the soviet union was state capitalist. It's not a tendency but is used against various groups like Left communists (also Leninist), Anarchists and real Marxists who aren't blinded by the soviet propaganda
How does Communism work in a world that is not Communist?
It doesn't communism or socialism can only be reached after capitalism is abolished, the two cannot co-exist
