I was thinking today, am I the only one who hates the word "god"? it is just so crude and sounds like something a bad fantasy writer would name a barbarian (this becomes even more apparent when the phrase "The Almighty" procedes it). Because of the concept it relates to I don't think many people think about the actual word, but just think about it for a second and you will see it. This has nothing to do with the idea of God(s), in fact I would argue that if you believe in that the word is almost insulting.
