A UK Government advisor, has suggested that parents of pupils skipping school, should be subjected to increased fines. And that these fines should be deducted from their benefits. More struggling people to be shoved into even greater hardship then.

Same old Tories, we will bully the lower classes into behaving themselves properly and getting the education we think they need (via Free Schools) to try and become part of the ever dwindling job market.

Yep. Kids avoid school for all sorts of reasons, bullying for example, and that the teachers fail to address it properly. But one key factor is that a lot of education is piss boring, and bears no relevance to their lives.
Capital wants to turn out an 'educated' workforce, just capable enough of earning some dead beat employer or another, a comfortable living.

Yeah. We've pretty much already learned everything we need, we're just gonna spend the next few weeks revising in school, pretty pointless :/

Of cos it won't. What it will do, is just make hard-up people, even more hard-up.
Many parents of truanting kids actually try their hardest to get them to go to school. Even if they walk them to the gates and see them on their way, they often bunk off as soon as they have been to registration.

while i agree, in essence with what you are saying... i have some major reservations....
you both seem to distance yourselves from said lower classes....
which implies a perceived superiority...maybe i am wrong.... whatever....
for mesewf... right.. i'm right workin- eff'in- `class.
frew and frew, right. i consider mesewf to be an educated member of the proletariat who is lucky and educated enuff to be abawl to see frew the tory crock 'a shit.
dont get me rong i can go awll la-di-da wiv the best of 'em but i is , i wiw alweys be workin class.
and as for the bastard policy ... oooh lets charge the parents when their wayward little drop-outs bunk school.
as far as i am concerned... it is just another attempt to castrate the working classes... as if things are not depressing enough here at the bottom.... fuck... i hate them... and would do anything, almost, to be given the opportunity to inflict upon them ... something really, really nasty.....
you see that is how hatred is born ...that is why if there is a god.... he resides with us, in us and [not that i believe this , i just feel obliged to put it out there....] we should remember that cos if god is in us then surely the devil is in that lot and we cant let them win.
in which case it does not matter if god exists... if god=the good in us, and the devil=the bad in us. then we should just do the best we can and be the best we can.......oops shit off topic better go look for another thread....

The school phoned up my mum, and she buckled under the pressure and basically gave away that I was bunking off yesterday and then tried to go back on it. The school knows I've been bunking off :(

Tell them you're an anti-revisionist
OH-
No, really though. This is absurd, but I'm becoming less and less surprised at the crap they're willing to throw at the working class. I skipped a lot of school to go out exploring and skateboarding and partying...
