Hi guys, whats everyones favourite socialist or socialist leaning music artists.
Can be from the rap, rock, indie or any other genres.
I've been listening to a lot of Lowkey, and immortal technique. They rap about anti capitalism, anti imperialism, and general difficulties the working class face from our corrupt leaders.
Viva la revolucion!:)

^ In their album "Evil Empire" the album notes have socialist books as pictures and the band talks about their opposition to imperialism, racism, and capitalism in their songs but that is about it really.

almost any crust punk/powerviolence/grindcore bandI don't understand the point of genres like grindcore being leftist, tbh. it's not like grindcore is ever going to be a force for change.
the only socialist music where I'm really interested in the leftist aspect of it is folk singers like Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger. who are two terrific leftist songwriters, I personally prefer Woody Guthrie but they are both great. so definitely them.

indeed
i first fell in love with american popular music when my family illegally snuck into the united states and enrolled me in a public elementary school when i was six
i had my first contact with hip-hop on the schoolyard, watching the girls booty dance without any music
and i had my first contact with american folk in music class
i distinctly recall singing with my classmates This Land is Your Land, as though they were welcoming my border crossing brown ass to their country in beautifully harmonious unison
