View Full Version : Touching a woman

Elysian

It's wrong to touch a woman inappropriately. We all get that. But what if a guy asks for her permission - and she consents - and then starts touching her? Would it be wrong because he is treating her as a sex object? Or will it be right because she's given him permission (and so what he's doing isn't against her will)?

God I love touching women...

And as a woman, I love being touched.

So, I don't think it's disrespectful to her or anything, so long as she wants it. Respecting her wishes is what makes it okay. Some people, regardless of gender, even get into the whole "being treated as a sex object" thing. Keyword consent, comrade.

But what if she feels pressured to say ok, even though you are not pressuring her. Then what? A simple solution might be getting to know that person's personality beforehand so you can decide if she is being pressured, either by a desire to keep you around or because of society, into allowing you to touch her. People can say ok, but that does not always mean that they are really ok with an action. Yet, it all depends on the person, situation, and circumstances.

jesus christ what the fuck is this shit

edit: I think the reason we have so many sex threads on revleft is because of all the sexually frustrated young male feminists who think anything sexual = bad

Though I must say it is hard to uncommodify sex in bourgeois society. Just as feudal society turned sex into something that represented sanctity, capitalist society turned sex into something that like everything else is only thought of in terms of exchange.

Many times it can be hard to see sex for what it really is: horny people fucking. Under the thick of veil of its relationship to society, all it is is a basic human communication method

This is fucking ridiculous... Are you kidding? "oohh how about if she lets me? can i touch her then?? ohh would it be disrespectful??

I don't normally do this but.... c'mon

EDIT: I just realized that the OP is that calvinist-turned-atheist mega-troll Elysian

Elysian is right. As good Marxists, we must resist the urge to procreate and maintain at least a 5m radius between ourselves at all times.

Don't be ridiculous. As everyone on revleft knows, women have no sexual agency. They are merely the helpless, if occasionally willing (obviously only because of societal pressure), victims of male sexuality.

Ah, silly me, what was I thinking?

That was just my inadequate female brain at work again!

Darned societal pressure making me a lesbian with urges!

Oh, sorry I was responding to the unfinished sentence of the title of this thread.

Consent is always the result of sexist societal pressures and thus any male-female sexual contact should be considered rape and condemned by leftists as counter revolutionary reformism.

Lol wtf? Please define inappropriate. My grandmother thinks it's inappropriate to kiss a girl in public, whether it's consensual or not. And you know how awkward that could be to ask if you could touch somebody, kiss them, etc? "Hey can I kiss you?" can ruin the whole mood, trust me I've done that before. I think it's just better to make a move, but make it very apparent what you're doing so he/she can react by either consenting or not consenting. And obviously you don't go straight for the boobs/ass/whatever you're hoping it goes towards. No, you start off by holding her hand or putting your hand on her leg or something and see her reaction. Then maybe slowly go in for a kiss, slowly moving your hands along her body towards whatever place you intend to end up, etc.

Elysian is right. As good Marxists, we must resist the urge to procreate and maintain at least a 5m radius between ourselves at all times.

But surely that does not apply when one is in the company, exclusively, of one's own sex! (Since the comrades' concern has to do with procreation)! As soon as I saved this message, I took a look at the title of my latest blog entry and realized that the comrade's suggested 5m radius (which is really pretty funny) sounds a little like Catholic concern about extra-marital sex, and that thought cracked me up. :)

As a matter of fact, when I saw the title of this thread, what came instantly to mind was the New Testament injunction, "It is better for a man not to touch a woman," which, of course, needs to be amended somewhat, since following that injunction would mean the extinction of our race.

You mean an amendment like:

Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.(For those you don't know your Bible inside-out, that's the two very next verses...)

I assume by 'class' you mean a school class. By which you must mean that touching women is the greatest struggle of one's schooldays but after that somehow becomes less central an issue...

Why the fuck wouldn't you ask? Why?

It's only treating her as a sexual object, IF YOUR TREATING HER AS A SEXUAL OBJECT. I ask my girlfriend for sex, because I just so happen to want to have sex more often than she does. The difference between asking in an objectifying way and in a "Im randy, lets shag" way, I don't get mad or upset when she says "no", life goes on the same as if I didn't ask.

What if I was single, and it was just a girl I met, or know? I would still ask, cause girls like sex too, and guess what? Still not mad if she says no.

Do you just touch first, ask later? Cause that's assault brotha.

This thread is fucking absurd.

I have it on good authority that roughly 100% of women are carriers of the cootie virus or Cootie Hemorrhagic Fever (CHF) and spread their defilement and sickness wherever they go and touch. The Soviets experimented with this disease in the 80s in an attempt to weaponize it and many a monkey suffered. It's better to just stay away.
