I was just on the Carnivale message board over at hbo.com because the last episode just about put my head out. I was really curious to find out a little more about the "Management" character. More specifically, who he was, what his beef was with Ben, and a few other things. I read the last 5 pages of the 107 page "Who Is Management?" thread and am still no clearer on the matter. There's just a bunch of cock-eyed theories over that really don't do much but muddle things up further. If anyone has any ideas, please respond.

I think there is a trinity thing going on. father, son, and holy ghost. they are all seperate entities but really the same. or maybe management is the grandfather, then there's the dad, and ben. Either way management is trying to get ben to come to his side, i really could see later in the show management saying,'ben i am your grandfather, come to the darkside' or some shit like that. i love the way that show looks, the cinemetography really is stunning, the storyline is ok but i think its more like the sopranos- a soap opera for younger people

the way i saw it the whole show is just the formation of good and evil, i see managment as a controller of the formation of the good, just a hunch hes supposed to stretch him and test him and eventually bring him to the final confrontation

I don't think Management is good. If you recall the whole avatar/tavatara thing (the word avatar derives from tavatara), I think Ben might just be the manifestation of God; kind of like a Christ figure. I have a sneaking suspicion that Management is either Satan or some high level demon. I wasn't sure though, which is why I brought it up.
