For those that don't know, Elizabeth Warren is the new golden child of American liberals that think reading Paul Krugman is radical. She's a Harvard law professor and like Ralph Nader started off as a consumer advocate but unlike Nader she has more patriotic views on foreign policy.

For generations, the United States and Israel have shared a commitment to a stable, secure, and peaceful Middle East. But our alliance runs far deeper: it is a natural partnership resting on our mutual commitment to democracy and freedom and on our shared values. Both our countries have been sustained by our commitment to liberty, pluralism, and the rule of law. These values transcend time, and they are the basis of our unbreakable bond.
Unilateral actions, such as the Palestinians’ membership efforts before the United Nations, are unhelpful, and I would support vetoing a membership application.I guess Warren is one of those "human dignity ends where the US border ends" type liberals?

It should be pointed out that the website of her Republican opponent, Scott Brown, is silent on the issue of Israel and Iran.

This shouldn't surprise anyone whatsoever. The Massachusetts Senate race she's in may be the second most expensive this year, after the Presidential election. I for one am very much pulling for Ms Warren, and urge anyone who can to vote for her to do so this fall.

For the purpose of this campaign, the issue is somewhat irrelevant and will likely not be brought up by either campaign as an issue.

That double think is amazing.

Why?

I generally support liberal candidates, and Ms Warren is one of the more outspoken progressives to emerge from the Obama campaign. She is also running against the archetypical Tea Party politician.

I think it's important because the person that the (both online and offline) media is portraying as the "Occupy candidate is openly talking about how she's pretty much a jingoist for Israel. It's one thing to talk about how a health-care plan originally invented by right-wingers as a way to prevent an enactment of single-payer is now perceived as "leftist" but if someone that adheres to the "carte blanche" school of thought in regards to Israel and would support a war on Iran is being touted as the "Occupy Wall Street" candidate, well yeah I think that's kinda bullshit.

That candidates will avoid hot button issues if they see no gain from smacking the hornets nest?

Yes, I would agree with that point in principle.

No one is supporting Warren thinking about foreign policy, her whole thing is fighting wallstreet, something which warrents support, right now thats more important.

Sure there is, but that relation is not Elizabeth Warren's ideology.
