I was lucky enough to find a teacher who would sponsor my leftist discussion group club. I'm going to be starting it shortly, I know a few comrades already. Anyway:
The club is leftist themed.
Right wingers are welcome to join to learn or debate or whatever they wish.
We welcome all leftists, no matter what sect.
It's basically going to be discussing leftist themes, and maybe having debates or whatever. We'll discuss current events and all that.
How cool is this? Wish me luck with it, I haven't even told the sponsor just how leftist I am, I think she just thinks I'm a democrat or something.

I'm jealous, here in Tampa, everyone is so right-wing that I can't even get a sponcer, but nonetheless, Republican clubs, Ayn Rand scholors, and Christians in Action abound... (there isnt even a Democrat club)

you live in Tampa? i live in Gulfport. and you are right when i was in school it was nothing but groups like Faith on Fire (contrary to the name religion is not set on fire) and Christian Athletes. No real chance for an atheist club. no political clubs existed. i think Dirty Commie (he also lives in Gulfport) started a Commie Club at St Pete High.

Congratulations on that, and good luck with the club.
Too bad here, though, people would rather have an ethnic club like the Latino Lions rather than a political club.
I know plenty of friends who would join, but the problem is the principal, Mr. Bozza, he is a bozo.
Anyway, good luck with that.

Nice one, Mike!
So, what's the next step?

well, even if we are on our own, we should always be armed with our theory, then one day when someone goes, "that fucking commie was right, lets go listen to him, u gonna be there, start a club regardless of if u know people are already interested. There is a reason its called the struggle u know!

Stir the shitstorm! Congratulations on the inception of your club. Why donīt you also, in addition to your debate, have a film festival of sorts?
Salvador by Oliver Stone is an excellent selection for starters. You could hand out flyers all over the school announcing the film festival.
