Private property - Love - Relationship

How does the concept private property affect our love relationships to our partners today ?

Some people behave ladies as their private possessions. Well ladies do the same too..

Words like "You are mine" etc...

What are your opinions ?

Actually I have the same mentality I am very possessive towards my partner. Is this biology or through social structure-property relations ?

Interesting question. I think that concepts of property must have some impact on relationships. Marriage as an institution is after all based on property rights and inheritance of property, and most methods of refering to a significant other involve some sort of possesive pronoun and language affects the way people think.

I think it is interesting to note how the nature of human relations has changed in relation to changes in property relations, especially regarding relationships, gender relations, and things like that. In previous modes of production women were legally property and treated as such. In bourgeois society women eventually were able to gain political and legal autonomy but patriarchy still exists because of the bourgeois mode of production. Under bourgeois hegemony men do hold social dominance, so in order to crush patriarchy we must sever bourgeois property relations.
