I wonder how many of you face imprisonment without trial for your political views?

That depends of course where you live. Do you experience that kind of oppression or do you think that may become a possibility in the near future for you?

Not yet, but I wouldn't put it past the U.S. government if things start really getting hot.

I witnessed Internment in the North of Ireland for years. It really is appalling, but it sends a message along the lines of: We are scared of you, you pose a threat to us, you are winning.

Here a 14yr glue sniffer or perhaps a trade unionist or peoples army or troublesome priest or a dispute with neighbour or a girl insists on having your baby or peasant refuses to give up land to mining corp or loggers or irritating scribbler or broadcaster or drug dealer or or or or or......list is subjective hence endless. A bullet in the back of the head. Cost effective, Wifey had a beef over land, For 1/3rd of price of sorting problem legally a solution, permanent. For a 1/6th burn the house down and a severe beating. Interesting that Wifey's request for legal advice from a police sergeant would consist of those 2 options....only options! Wifey declined, he had 9 children. Lucky fellow . We paid up knowing it was a swindle....hate to say it....was tempted.....we declined sergeants kind offer to sort our 'difficulty'.

Surprised Wifey never got the QAK-QAK IN....he can deal with any problem at a fraction....pay by results. The hapless fellow hanging from a beam, that only a day before told me through tears, he had not stolen money from us. I never thought he had, he had heard Wifey had visited Qak-Qak, I told him truthfully it was for massage (arthritis). He must have spent a night with conflicting thoughts. Obviously his choice of a Nunnery to find peace and solace was trumped by Qak-Qak. As chairman of the catholic youth chapter he knew that the respect of his peers and elders and pursuit by Qaks had him in a vice that only death could relieve. The money was left under his pillow, nuns found it first, addressed to Wifey. Not enough to buy a family Pizza in UK. Not enough to pay for a funeral, even here.

Life here is cheap as chips! .....or a family sized Pizza.

And I wouldn't put it past the UK Government, either. It's one of the tricks capital has up its sleeve, should the political climate move in our direction.
