View Full Version : Third-Worldism is not Marxism

Elysian

Eulogizing the third-world is not Marxism. Even if statistics show that third-world workers are more exploited (due to sweatshops, precarious living conditions etc.), that is of their own doing. People in the third-world are primitive, which is why they're being exploited to begin with.

Our position is not western capitalism, but neither is it third-worldism. We're Marxists, period. But the problem is: in their eagerness to stand up to western capitalism/imperialism, many people start eulogizing anything that's remotely non or anti-capitalist (even if it's something primitive and downright evil, like the taliban).

No one on this forum is even a Third Worldist, so what are you talking about? I don't think a Marxist (let alone a Marxist, period:ohmy:) would have made this OP.

You know as much as I hate third-worldists, I really hate you a lot more. Your position is far more backwards than theirs. Saying that people are exploited because they are primitive is social Darwinism and you have no place telling people who should be a Marxist.

Darwinism is an unfortunate fact of life - survival of the fittest. TW people are too weak and primitive to be able to resist exploitation. They are willing victims, so they have no right to complain. But Maoist third worldists are their cheerleaders.

The oppression of the working class is an act of their own doing, as after all it is only their own labour which dominates them. They are only oppressed because they willingly re-create a decrepit social system every day, rather than escaping from this primitive, undeveloped state of existence and bringing about a socialist society. If it were not an act of their will, but determined independently, then an act of their will could not change it, after all.

This has been your daily distorted presentation of Marxist theory. Next week: Why Warren Buffet is the Second Coming of Jesus on Earth.

the fact that people are capable of organizing to overthrow capitalism doesnt mean that their failure to do so is somehow the main factor of their oppression.

youd think that in a country where supposedly communist parties occupy literally dozens of seats in parliament there would be some degree of class consciousness. especially compared to the first world where classical liberalism and third way dominate mainstream politics.

It doesn't matter if he's a MTW or not because his politics are fucking shit. Anyway. There's already a load of chatter about him going on in that protest your restriction thread, so if you want to talk about him take it there and get infracted for spamming the thread so that I can laugh at you. Thanks.

As a third world "primitive" person, must I say that you are a complete imbecile?

Our position is not western capitalism, but neither is it third-worldism. We're Marxists, period.

I am, kid. You are not. You are just a know-nothing with no idea of what you are talking about.

But the problem is: in their eagerness to stand up to western capitalism/imperialism, many people start eulogizing anything that's remotely non or anti-capitalist (even if it's something primitive and downright evil, like the taliban).

This is usually made by supposedly "sophisticated" first-world people. Those of us who have to live under such ("Western"-imposed) regimes don't eulogise or otherwise fancy them.

Elysian the world is getting smaller. We travel see documentaries. Read literature from the 4 corners. M E E T folk. L I S T E N to their tales. A discourse. Films, TV dramas. You seem incapable of the most crude investigation. Ask a landless day labourer his views of his landlord or high caste villagers. Buy him a drink , loosen his tongue. You have a drink too you sound mentally constipated. Listen to what flows from his lips. In other words think for yourself and respect yourself then maybe, M A Y B E you might entertain respect for others. Get to the heart of the matter. Then you will speak with authority and we will listen eagerly to your viewpoint.
